Nana and Papa came for a visit the first weekend in June. Dad and Shawn did some antiquing and Mom and I spent some quality time shopping. As usual their visit was over way too soon!
Papa helped Avery put some change in her piggy bank.
Mommy's cleaning buddy
Avery is very into all of her babydolls right now...it's pretty sweet.
The Pout - we've been seeing this look a lot lately.
Pretty roses from Shawn for our 9 year anniversary
A weekend trip to Charleston to celebrate the end of school/ our anniversary/ Father's Day.
Avery loved the beach - especially playing in the sand and running through the surf.

Avery gets the sweet ride to and from the beach in the Wonder Wheeler.
We went to Charles Towne Landing for Shawn's Father's Day gift - a historic site. They did a little demo of the cannons and for the rest of the weekend we heard, "Cannons loud!" They made quite an impression on Avery.
I love you Daddy!
Ready to go to her first story hour. The class was supposed to be for 1-3 year olds but there were kids sitting around the teacher who had to be 6 or 7...you know, giving all the answers. Avery loves to read stories at home and will sit for as long as someone will read to her. However, she couldn't seem to understand why she had to sit on Mommy's lap when there were 20 other kids in the room to play with. Needless to say, she gave me a run for my money. I think we're going to wait to go back until next summer and hopefully by then she will willingly sit through story time. We do still take her to the library and she gets to pick out a few books and she generally does great, so we'll see how next summer goes.
I'm pretty sure she's the only kid who managed to get 2 stickers out of the teacher who very clearly said because of the crowd she could only give one sticker to each kid.
One of Avery's favorite things to do is run and hide when we tell her to do something. Well, she runs and hides in plain sight, but hey if she can't see us then we can't see her, right?
