Loving those smiles...and even when there aren't any

Well...Avery doesn't get upset all that often, but when she does....watch out!

Sleeping off her shot for her 1 month appt. She weights 9lbs. 10 oz. and is 21 inches long!

And she woke up pretty happy

Papa Dale and Avery

On August 11th Avery got to meet Grandma and Papa McKerrow from New York as well as Uncle Justin, Auntie Jill, Cora, and Maverick from Oregon! We had a busy week with a lot of cuddling, new sights and lots of excitement. Avery definitely wants to spend some more time with her cousins when she can interact with them more. Grandma and Papa left Saturday morning and we were glad Justin, Jill and the kids could stay a little longer before they had to go home on Tuesday the 18th.

Sunday

Too many pictures!

It's hard to believe it's August already and that Avery will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. Sunday Avery slept all the way through her first union meeting at our house. She was quite the hit afterward. Several people have said that she looks like me...not sure how this is possible...but we'll take the resemblence. :-)

Shawn went back to work on Monday so I've been on my own during the nights and all day until he gets home. Of course, Sunday night I think I got up with her 5 times...her worst night ever. The next two nights were much better and this morning we both slept in until 10:30!

On Tuesday Avery and I drove up to Shawn's school so he could show her off to his colleages. We went out for lunch with everyone and then we headed home. Avery was excellent in the car both ways...slept the entire time! Tuesday night Uncle Harry came for supper. He was working in Lincolnton, NC for a few days. He was the first relative to hold Avery and I know he made everyone up in NY jealous.

This morning Avery and I are just hanging out at home...checking things off my to do list. I'm wishing we were on our way to NY for convention and to see everyone but at the moment Shawn needs to be at work and we're not quite up to another 11 hour drive after just getting home last Wed.

From A to Z

Telling secrets already :-)

Today we went and visited Eric and Shelly Morton to see their new baby ZOE! She and Avery are exactly one week apart. They had their first joint photo session today...neither of them seemed too enthusiastic about it but they sure were cute!

Avery's Updates

We love being home!!! Our house feels huge after living in a hotel room for 12 days. Avery is enjoying her new surroundings and all her "toys." She loves taking naps in her hand-me-down swing from Madeline, Oscar, and Grant. She has also enjoyed taking real baths...just laying there calmly while we wash her. She even fell asleep while we were bathing her tonight. Avery had her first doctor's appointment on Friday and she is our little champion eater. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. ...almost up a whole pound from her birth weight. The doctor said she is doing great and to keep doing what we are doing.
