Party!

The night of Avery's actual birthday we gave her a cupcake to see what she'd do. She liked plaing in it but wasn't very fond of actually eating any.

A birthday elephant from Nanny and Papa.
Crawling doll

Avery's cakes

"Happy birthday to you!"

Playing with some new toys

Avery is One!

July 16, 2009...our world is made new!
Wide awake at 2AM after a 10.5 hour drive.

A family at last

She was smiling already

and making goofy faces

and ONE year later... July 16, 2010

She is the light of our lives!

Charleston in July

A walk/ride on the beach.
"Hey Mommy!"

Then a walk along the Battery in Charleston.

Big sloppy kisses for Daddy. We spent part of the day on the beach but since I've already ruined one camera because of sand I kind of decided we'd try to limit beach pictures when we are going to be covered in sand.

Back into Charleston to walk around...having fun with my baby girl!

She loves to hang upside-down!

Beginning of July

Shawn had the first two weeks in July off so our plan was to do a day trip, a day working on the house, day trip, etc. We only ended up taking two day trips plus an overnighter to Charleston but Shawn got a lot done in the yard and he pressure washed the house.

We went to the state museums of history and science in Raleigh. Here is Avery...future president from NC?

Our second day trip...Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC

A picnic lunch after the zoo.

Avery totally took me by surprise when I put her behind this little cart and she just took right off across the living room. Now it is one of her favorite toys.

End of June

A day trip to the beach! Avery loves the sand...eats it by the fist-full...and she also loves the waves! Avery refused to take a nap on the whole three hour trip to the beach but as soon as she got back in the car...she was out!
A stop in Charleston on the way home to cool off in the fountains.

Daddy takes one for the team...somehow he thought he could take her in this fountain without getting wet himself.
Malachi and Avery...I'm babysitting this adorable little boy about once a week this summer. I've quickly learned to do everything in shifts...we all eat at the same time, diaper changes, etc.

Watching the rain.
