Shelby Convention

Avery and Zoe
Shawn was holding sweet little Adaline Webb and Avery went and sat on his feet until he picked her up...a little jealous!

Cabarrus County Fair

Avery loved the petting zoo, fair food, and watching the adult rides. Shawn and I had a great time watching her get so excited about everything.

"Come here, mister!"

The hamster dance balls.

When the AC is out...

A girl has got to stay cool!
Our AC went out because one of the fan blades broke. We had to call a repair man who nicely offered to replace the entire unit (23 years old) but Shawn stuck firm and made sure he only fixed the actual problem so our bill was in the hundreds and not thousands of dollars. They had to order a part so we were without AC for 5 days of 80-90 degree weather.

Trip to Charleston

We took a quick overnight trip to Charleston. Our hotel room wasn't ready when we arrived so we headed downtown to Waterfront Park. Avery made a friend in the fountain.
She explored the pier.

Posed in the single seater benches.

Showed off her balance...

Walked around the dock...Daddy's favorite spot to pose her.

Took one nice picture with Mommy...

and then went wild. Since she has really taken off walking, she is Little Miss Independence.

Once we checked in at our hotel we quickly changed and headed for the beach.

No hesitation...she took right off.

Beach Baby

And later we enjoyed the pool in the hotel.

Avery's bed in our room.

New Red Wagon

Nanny and Papa Keim sent Avery some money to buy a wagon. She loves it and is already working on her parade wave.

Totally relaxed...taking in the view.

End of August

Waiting for us to decide what to do.

Wearing a hand-me-down dress from Madeline.
Walking is definitely Avery's preferred method of motion.

The zombie walk

Trying on hats at the Museum of the New South
Avery loved Ralph!

Reading a book after her daily destruction of the bottom two shelves of her bookcase.
