First Taste of Cereal

Avery had her first taste of cereal on Sunday Nov. 29th. She took a few spoonfuls but wasn't too sure about it. Since then we've tried a little everyday and she has the spoon part down but still isn't crazy about the cereal. We'll see how she likes some carrots and sweet potatoes next week.

Avery's sleep schedule was a little off but she did great on both car rides...slept for 8 out of the 11 hours. We had a great Thanksgiving and can't wait to go back and see everyone at Christmas.

4 Months - November 16th

It is hard to believe that our darling girl is 4 months old already! Avery continues to be a very happy, jovial baby. She now laughs with a big belly laugh and tries to ham it up for anyone who might be looking at her. Avery loves to bounce in her doorway jumper and is building up some pretty strong leg muscles. At her 4 month appt. she weighed 15.5 lbs (90th percentile) and is 24 inches long (45th percentile). Now I know why she loves it when I sing, "I'm a little teapot, short and stout"...it truly is her song. :-) I still love doing her laundry and working around her bedroom but it makes me sad that with every load of laundry I'm sorting out things to go into the "too small" bag.

Taking tummy time a little too far!

I'm proving to be a horrible blogger! By the time I get home, play with Avery, cook dinner, give Avery her bath, put Avery to bed...ahhh...not enough hours in the day! After being back at work for three weeks, I came down with Shingles on my face! It was painful at times but not painful enough to miss work. As careful as I tried to be...Avery came down with Chicken Pox. We both missed a few days of work staying home with her but we concluded that having Chicken Pox at 3 months old wasn't all that bad...Avery doesn't know how to scratch yet and they really didn't seem to bother her at all. Now we're just waiting for the scabs to clear up.
Here are a few of the hundreds of pictures we take.

Just Some More Pictures...

Don't Step Backwards!
Asleep after a long day at Charleston!

Game Night in Davie County!

Twilight Walk On The Beach

Giggles For Grandma

90th Percentile! And Other Stuff...

Wow, we are behind in our posts! Hopefully, this will update all of you with some random happenings and pictures.

Avery had her two month checkup, and was extremely healthy, hale and hearty. She is really striving to fit in with her parents, as she was at that point in the 90th percentile for weight at a hefty 12 pounds. :) We think she might have doubled that by now. ;) She had her shots, and took them in stride.

Renee is back at work, building a better America by teaching the youth of today. Avery loves Ms. Teresa, her babysitter, but is still always happy to see Mom and Dad at the end of the day.

Avery also had a beach weekend at our favorite city, Charleston. She loved the water and the the sand, and was all smiles the whole time!
Grandma McKerrow came to visit for a week, and we all had a great time. Avery loved her too, and Grandma thought that Avery was her custest, bestest, smartest and adorablest grandbaby ever, or at least until the next grandbaby arrives. And of course, those are my words, not hers, and she feels that way about each of her grandbabies.

Not much exciting is going on, just the quiet joys of daily life and watching a baby grow. Enjoy the pictures!

Tummy time is made a little easier if you stick your tongue out.
