Day Trip to the Mountains

Ever since Avery was a few months old we kept saying we should take a day trip to the mountains and then everytime we planned it we changed our plans to go to the beach instead. We had a fun time, but somehow we picked the foggiest, rainiest day of the summer to go.
Heading out for a short hike.

Loving being out of her carseat and carried up high.

Avery's new thing is to hold her arms out perpendicular to her body and grab anything she comes in contact with. We're always having to be aware of what she is trying to grab.

The Blue Ridge Parkway

We dodged raindrops and had a quick picnic lunch on Grandfather Mountain.

Where are her parents?!

Mile high suspension bridge...that's Avery and I out there...Shawn could only take pictures if he was on either side of the bridge...it was swaying too much for him. :-)

Why aren't we at the beach?

Some black bears

Stand like a baby bear

And she's spent!
